Did you ever wish you were someone else? I wanna be Sammy Hagar! The title of his latest studio album is “Livin’ it Up” and it is most appropriate. His shows are one big party as well; a non-swtop barrage of confetti, the parade of colored lights and strobes that assaulted our senses, the make-shift straw-covered bar to the left of the stage that resembled his Cabo Wabo Bar in Mexico, and scantily clad, long-legged females would emerge with frequency to nourish Sammy with his own brand of tequila. Sammy’s over the age of 60 and he still looks 30, damn it!
What about the music, you say? Well, it almost seemed secondary with the many visuals about, but it, too, was exemplary. The band kicked off the show with the one-two punch of “I can’t Drive 55” and “There’s only one way to Rock.” From thee, the hits kept coming – “I’ll Fall in Love Again”, “Heavy Metal”, “Three Lock Box”, Montrose’s “Rock Candy”, Eddie’s tribute with “Little White Lie”, an acoustic version of “Dreams”, and so on. If you want a show that is the total package – great songs, boundless energy, and a party-like atmosphere, get your tickets now!
